“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20, 21 (NIV)

Step 1: Pray

This is the most important step in preparing your heart to respond to God’s call to action. Ask Him what He would have you give to make this vision a reality for Capital Community Church. Remember, these are gifts over and above your regular giving.

Step 2: Leave room for faith

Trust God to provide what He impresses you to give, even if the amount is greater than the resources you can readily identify. Our greatest hopes and our greatest dreams are just the beginning for God. Expect the unbelievable!

Step 3: Give sacrificially

Nowhere do the scriptures teach equal giving, but we can all sacrifice equally. There is no limit to what God will do in and through us if we commit ourselves to sacrificial giving.

Cash – Stocks – Securities – Real Estate

Not Equal Giving…But Equal Sacrifice

1. Give a Cash Gift. Ask God for creative ways to increase your gift. You might consider giving from savings, tax refunds, garage sales or even an extra part-time job. Also consider reducing your expenses or deferring a major purchase as a sacrifice to God. Involve your whole family in giving a specific amount.

2. Make a 14-month giving pledge. The Bible teaches that spiritual maturity includes developing the habit of regular giving. Giving the first portion of our income shows that God really has first place in our lives. Also, you can give far more than you thought possible when it’s spread out over time.

3. Give stocks, securities or other assets.

 WIDE OPEN SUNDAY - October 6, 2013

We will each take a step of faith and indicate the amount of our 14 month commitment “over and above our regular giving” as God has laid it upon our hearts. As we present our Commitment Cards, we will anticipate the great blessings that God will bring to our church over the next 14 months and into our great future.

“On every Lord’s Day you should put aside something from what you have earned during the week, and use it for this offering. The amount depends on how much the Lord has helped you earn.” 1 Corinthians 16:2 (LB)
