Our mission
We exist to experience Jesus,
grow in faith, and be the voice
of hope to neighbors and nations.
Our Values
THE WORD
We believe that the Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.
GENEROSITY
The Gospel is the ultimate demonstration of God’s generous nature towards mankind. The Bible consistently teaches that God blesses us so that we may bless others.
PRAYER
We believe a lifestyle of prayer is paramount to a successful relationship with Jesus Christ. Prayer is both talking and listening to God. In any healthy relationship, communication is key.
UNITY
Unity provides clarity even among people with different giftings and abilities. We are not looking for uniformity but that each person thrives in their God-given role in fulfilling the vision He has given the church.
PEOPLE
We are passionate about loving and serving people. We believe people are valuable simply because Jesus loves us. God is love and we want His love to shine in us and through us. YOU MATTER!
EXCELLENCE
We value the persistent development of people and systems. We find ways to do it better even if there is nothing wrong and we do not settle for mediocrity. God is worthy of our best every time, all the time.
Our Story
Pastor Chester L. Mitchell was commissioned as a Metro Missionary to the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area by the United Pentecostal Church International. He and his wife, Marion, arrived in Reston, Virginia, in February 1996, and began the work of planting Capital Community Church. The first service was on Easter Sunday 1996 at the Neil Armstrong Elementary School.
Services were held at the school until we moved into our new building in Ashburn, Virginia in March of 2002. God has richly blessed! We continue to trust Him for dramatic growth and guidance in the advancement of the Gospel. Capital Community Church has raised up believers who are now serving Jesus Christ around the world. The best is yet to come!
